CARTOON CANDLES is a family operated Candle Company and also a work of love! We are a Candle Manufacturer but also a manufacturer of joy! Our handcrafted candles have found their way across the USA, into Canada and even the Orient, through our Candle Store and also through our Candle Online venture.  

Pat and I closed her Candle Store and my business in Cincinnati, Ohio at the end of 2001. She had a Candle Shop in a large Mall, but we decided to relocate to Somerset, Ky. to be closer to 2 of our 4 children and 7 of our 12 grandchildren.

PAT is the Candle Carver and as you can see by her quality, she really loves & enjoys her work. She makes each candle unique, a little different cut here, a little different twist there. There are never two made exactly alike. That is one of the advantages of a handcrafted item, each one is a little bit different than the last one. She is always experimenting, creating a new style or a different cut (which is why we have to add disclaimer saying “Candles may vary slightly in size or color”). Pat and her talent is what makes CARTOON CANDLES the successful business that it is. 

Lori is our daughter-in-law & is our Resident Dipper. We make wax cores & then those cores are dipped in different colored hot wax anywhere from 30 to 60 times, depending on the color combination needed for that particular candle. Dipping is a very important part of the Candle Crafting Process. You must to be able to get the right color combinations and you have to be careful not to have bumps or drips in the candle. The colored wax is melted and maintained at a temperature of approximately 180 degrees. If you leave the candle in any dip too long it will melt the previous color, ruining the candle & contaminating your entire container of that color. That is not only expensive, but time consuming. It takes about 24 hours to replace a ruined color. Lori is new to the art of Candle Crafting but has proven to be a fast learner & is an important part of our Candle Crafting Process.

Bob (that’s me) is “allowed” to have a part in this venture. Pat & Lori are the talented ones so I am not allowed to take part in the Candle Crafting Process, other than to be the errand boy. I gave myself the title’s of “Marketing Director” & “Procurement Manager”. This site is one of my projects (so if you don’t like it, blame me) and I am working at adding new Resellers for our products. I am always trying to locate suppliers for the figurines & other products that we use, which is a never-ending job.

We are the Original NASCAR Candle Maker.  Our specialties are NASCAR Candles, Cartoon Candles, Musical Candles & Handcrafted Candles.  Our Handcrafted Candles include NASCAR Candles or Race Car Candles, Disney Candles, Mickey Mouse Candles, Pooh Candles, Tigger, Eeyore, Tweety, Barbie, Disney Princess Candles, Looney Tunes, Betty Boop, Dorothy, Wizard of Oz, Dolphins, Angels, Road Runner, Lighthouses  & most other Cartoon Characters.  We do all the NASCAR Winston Cup cars on our NASCAR Candles. Each of our Handcrafted Musical Candles is different because it is Hand Carved & Hand Dipped.  We take extra steps with our Candles that some other Candle Carvers don’t do.  We make a larger Candle, approximately 7 inches tall & 12 inches around, top & bottom.  We use extra decorations on our Candles that most Candle Companies don’t use.  We have several different cuts & styles that WE have developed over the years.  We put names or numbers on almost all of our NASCAR Candles.  We carry hundreds of different Figurines IN STOCK & can get many more so we can offer the greatest selection available.  We do several other things that take extra time & extra expense to make our Candle the very best we can.  You might find Cheaper Candles but you won’t find BETTER or NICER Candles!
